8M Dublin is organising a PROTEST next Sunday 8th March, to celebrate INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY at 2pm at the Spire (O’ Connell St). Together, we’ll raise our voices to condemn the systemic violence and discrimination that women suffer all around to world.
We’ll raise our voices for all the victims of sexual violence that have been ignored and mistreated by our patriarchal justice system. We’ll raise our voices to demand free, safe, legal and accessible abortion. We’ll raise our voices to raise awareness about the gender pay gap and the inequalities and discrimination women suffer in the workforce. We’ll raise our voices to condemn the precarious conditions that women who work as care givers have to experience on a daily basis. We’ll raise our voices to defend the rights of ALL WOMEN because, in the words of Audre Lorde “[We] are not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from [our] own.
We’ll raise our voices for those who came before us and the ones that will come after. We’ll raise our voices for those who have been murdered and silenced. We’ll raise our voices to demand a FEMINIST SOCIETY!
